Each year BPW/NJ offers
Career Development Awards
of up to $500 per person.
The awards are available for
women ages 25 and above
who are seeking to advance
their careers, reenter the
workforce, or make a career
change. An award may be
used for education, or it may
be used to purchase a piece
of equipment if the applicant
has at least a fifty percent
ownership in a small business.
Applications are
available on the BPWNJ web
site beginning February 10,
2011.
Local organizations are responsible for promoting the
Career Development Scholarship Awards. A suggested
press release will be made available on the web site at
www.bpwnj.org.
Please note that applications do not have to be
endorsed by the local organization. Locals can collect
the applications and mail them to the state Scholarship Team, or they can have applicants mail the completed
applications directly to the Team. Applications must be
returned to Scholarship Team Leader Jeanne Jameson by
April 15, 2011. If a local organization wishes to review
the applications first, they must keep the state deadline
in mind and set an earlier due date for applicants to
return their applications to the LO.
BPW members are needed to serve on the state selection
committee. If you would like to serve on the scholarship
selection committee, please contact Jeanne Jameson, at
jamjean@warwick.net.
The Career Development Scholarship Award recipients
will be announced at the State Conference in May, 2011.
Forms are found on the left side bar. If submitting by e-mail, please include all supporting statements and schedules as an attachment. All emails should be directed to jamjean@warwick.net
